I'm so sorry I missed this event. I was going to go with my grandson and his wife, but I called him the day before and he was having a crisis, so I spent the day in Independence, but not at the mansion. Hope to have better luck next year - thanks for the great idea, I had never heard of the mansion before! Carole

I'll be there but first I'm attending a presentation on Truman and Pendergast at the Midwest Genealogy Center.

I've not been able to schedule "Black Hand Strawman" yet. The program has always conflicted with something else or been at a library branch to far away. On Sunday July 20 former KC Mayor Kay Barnes is presenting a program on KC Women v. Pendergast at the downtown Central Library that I've scheduled to attend. As a native son I love KC's rich and varied history. The KC library has several interesting program in July on the Civil War, the Presidents and even an anniversary of spaghetti westerns.

Yes KCPLibrary always has good, interesting adult history programs.....they way outdo Mid-Continent Library in that area :) But as far as Black Hand Strawman, you could always check out the documentary from the library (Mid-Continent is where I got it from) and at least watch the documentary.
