The American International Club of Vermont is being created to allow a vehicle for people with international experience to come together to socialize and network in an atmosphere that is fun, supportive and intellectually stimulating.
I decided to start this group to provide an opportunity for social interaction, networking and the exchange of information between foreign professionals living in Vermont and Vermont residents who have spent part of their life living overseas. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent as a board member of the American International Club of Rome when I lived in Italy and would like to help create a similar group here in Vermont now that I'm back home after 25 years of living in Europe.
Come join us!
Note added December 12, 2010: Please let me know if there is an interest in a TCK (Third Culture Kid) offshoot in the club. My daughters (20 and 24) are both TCKs and are interested in organizing this. A TCK is a person who spent two years living abroad before they turned 18. Studies have shown that they have a number of characteristics/qualities in common with other TCKs. I think this is a fantastic idea so I hope we can help get a group together.
