What's American Wine Society?

The AWS is a national nonprofit consumer organization, devoted to educating people on all aspects of wine. Its members are wine novices, experts, grape growers, amateur and professional winemakers, chefs, wine appreciators, wine educators, restaurateurs and anyone else who wants to learn more about the appreciation of wine and gastronomy.

Who is American Wine Society - Santa Barbara Chapter For?

AWS - Santa Barbara is for anyone and everyone; especially those who like to taste wine in a social setting, learn while having fun. It’s also an event where you can meet individuals who are interested in winery tours, winemaking and grape growing.

Who are We?

We are a non-profit members only group. We are dedicated to promoting the appreciation of wine through education.

What do we do?

We hold monthly meetings where we coordinate wine tastings and provide educational materials about specific wines and the places from where they come. We occasionally have special guests or speakers with more focused knowledge about a wine production area, a region of interest, or even a feature different themes. We also try to incorporate some special events throughout the year that further our knowledge and enjoyment of wine. And as always, we enjoy wine responsibly.

Can anyone come to a Santa Barbara Wine Society Meeting?

As long as you are of legal age to consume alcohol, yes, you can. However, you are limited to a maximum of three meeting before you must become an active member of both the Santa Barbara Wine Society and the American Wine Society.

The santa Barbara Wine Society is a chapter of the American Wine Society, which is a national organization. The America Wine Society was organized in 1967 as a non-profit, educational, consumer-oriented organization for those who have similar interests. It has over 120 chapters throughout the US.
