Come and join us for a drink and a chat
in the Riverfront Bar at
the National Film Theatre.
The National Film Theatre is one of my favorite places in London. If you've been before, you'll know how good it is. If you're new to town, you should discover it early. And if you've been here a while and don't know about it, well, you've missed out.
The NFT shows classic movies, new movies and sometimes interviews the producers, directors and stars on stage.
We'll be meeting in the Riverfront Bar for casual drinks after work from 6-30pm onwards. There's a cafe there as well, so you'll be able to get something to eat. It's a great place to meet and to make some new friends. If you're new to London or just here for a vacation or a short visit, you're particularly welcome to join us.
See you there.
How to find us:
The NFT is in the heart of the South Bank, one of the most exciting and lively parts of town. It's located at the southern end of Waterloo Bridge and the closest station is Waterloo.
I prefer to take the tube to Embankment Station and walk across the bridge over the river, taking in a fabulous view of the city and the Shard. At the end of the bridge you go down the stairs to the left and then east along the South Bank past the Royal Festival Hall, the pier and the Queen Elizabeth Hall until you reach the NFT.
The NFT is part of the British Film Institute - the BFI - and it's shown as BFI Southbank on this map on their website:
We'll be in the area marked Riverfront Bar which is in the lower right hand corner on the green part of this floorplan, also from the BFI website:
There will be Americans Abroad/Americans in London Meetup signs on the table to help you find us. Please don't be shy about making yourself known to us when you arrive.
