Hello Book-Worms!

This month's book will be 'My Name is Light' by Elsa Osorio (ISBN 13: [masked])

Book Club Tools

We are using the website as a tool to help in sharing book ideas and making choices within the group. If you're not already a member it would be great if you could create a free profile and send a request to join the group.  If you have any problems doing this we can help you get set-up when you come along to Book Club.

What to expect.

The evening will be informal, conducted in English (all nationalities very welcome), starting with a brief catch up/greetings, followed by discussion about the book, and closing with an open forum for ideas regarding how the group is developing.

Tea and Coffee will be available.  Just help yourself.  If you do want to have a drink, we ask that you pop €1 in the pot on the Tea/Coffee table. (€1 covers unlimited Tea/Coffee for the evening).

Spaces at the Meet Up are limited to 10 people. If you RSVP after the spaces are full you will automatically be added to the waiting list.  We recommend that you read the book if you are on the waiting list, as spaces can come available at the last minute. If you RSVP 'Yes' to the Meet Up and then find you can't make it, please ensure that you change your status to 'No' ASAP, to enable another member to take your place.

Book Club Etiquette.

One of the most wonderful things about literature is that any given story can create many different reactions in a reader and between readers. We want The Amersfoort English Language Book Club to be somewhere that everyone can express their own thoughts and responses to the book of the month, freely and confidently. Therefore, all members are requested to ensure they respect the opinions of others, giving all members the chance to have their say. Exploring the ideas of others leads to interesting discussion and we encourage that so long as it is done without brutality and with positive and constructive intentions. By signing up for a Meet Up event with The Amersfoort English Language Book Club you are agreeing to abide by these etiquette guidelines.

Hi, I'm really sorry to have to cancel at the last minute, Sophie (my little girl) is ill and I need to stay at home to look after her. I was hoping she would get better as the day went on but unfortunately she's not.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
