JOIN THE MARCH TO COMMEMORATE
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY:

MARCH 10TH, MIDTOWN, Details To Be Announced

Despite great strides in recent decades, women's rights in this country certainly have a very long way to go toward full equality...

  • Every 15 seconds a woman is beaten.
  • Every day three to four women are killed by their partners.
  • One in four female college students will be raped or sexually assaulted while in college.

REJECT PORN/RAPE CULTURE
Pornography diminishes all of us; those used and abused, consumers who are influenced by it or become addicted to it, and the culture at large, including children, being taught to objectify women. We see the sexualized degradation of women becoming normalized and the sexualization of girls at an ever younger age. Pornographers and marketers have hijacked our culture for profit. We do not want more censorship. We want more outrage. We want to create a culture that values women as full and equal actors on the human stage. Stand up and denounce the violent and degrading treatment of women and girls!

"If you can't imagine sex without porn, you're screwed."

SUPPORT REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
These legal rights are under assault! Demand the right to information about, and access to, contraception, family planning, pre-natal and maternal health care, and abortion without apology! Women are not merely baby makers. They are complete human beings entitled to make their own informed reproductive choices without interference from either church or state.

STOP PATRIARCHY NOW!
These two issues represent opposite sides of the same coin. Patriarchal constructs are plagued by the virgin/slut dichotomy. Whether as sexual slaves or as enshrined madonnas, women in either case are assumed to be property under the control of their owners/masters/husbands/pimps. We have long identified a root cause of human trafficking to be: "a culture that accepts women as objects that can be bought and sold." This is an opportunity to soundly repudiate that notion.

Help us plan this march and take a positive step toward building a culture that embraces sexuality in the context of mutual respect and equal partnership.

Great hitting so many different targets and connecting the dots. Some good street theater, great signage, and wonderful ranting and chanting from lots of people fed up with the war on women.
