India: A fine balance by Rohinton Mistry

Thanks for voting our poll on a book set in India! And the winner is:

*** A fine balance by Rohinton Mistry ***
Set in mid-1970s India, this novel is a subtle and compelling narrative about four unlikely characters who come together in circumstances no one could have foreseen soon after the government declares a 'State of Internal Emergency'. It is a breathtaking achievement: panoramic yet humane, intensely political yet rich with local delight; and, above all, compulsively readable.

It's been a while, but those of you who enjoyed it may also enjoy this radio adaptation of it by the BBC. (Thanks to Kieran for bringing this to my attention.) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05mq8wr

Has there been location been decided for this Meet Up?

Thnx for the reminder Kieran! I've been checking out a few locations for reasons of variety, but the ones I've seen won't do, so I've decided to go with our usual place for this one: café Krom at the Utrechtsestraat 76.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
