Hello Amsterdam UX community!

In the middle of a week full of travel (last Friday, I arrived in Toronto for Interaction'13, and will fly back to Amsterdam tomorrow only to spend the weekend and Monday in Hamburg) it makes total sense for me to announce a travel-related Amsterdam UX Cocktail Hour:

On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, fifty of you will be able to learn about's UX practice. But I also hope that you will contribute actively; we plan to have a discussion around the ways UX designers work together with other roles, specifically business analysts and front- and back-end developers. And of course there will be drinks & snacks and time to socialize and network.

The exact schedule is still unclear, but you can assume the basics:

what:  Amsterdam UX Cocktail Hour
when: Tuesday, February 5, 2013
time:  18:00 - 21:00
where:, Herengracht 597, Amsterdam
theme: Fasten your seatbelt!
RSVP: Yes please, via

Insightful presentations with food for thoughts and discussions, impressive venue, stylish blue cocktails and friendly crowd. "Design by numbers" versus "design by designers" - is it "evidence- driven decision making" versus "opinions"? I hope it is not so simple...

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
