A full day of great fast-paced explanations where the hosts/teachers gave you the chance to figure things out on your own. 10/10 would do again.

Hello everyone. Just a quick heads up:

As I've described, we expect Ruby to be installed on your computers. As such, here are a couple guides to help you do it:

    Mac: http://www.moncefbelyamani.com/how-to-install-xcode-homebrew-git-rvm-ruby-on-mac/

    Windows: http://rubyinstaller.org/

Please get anything equal or above to 1.9.3 :-)

Thank you, and will see you all tomorrow!

    Hello everyone.

Just to clarify, this course intends to start Ruby development from scratch, and it's targeted to people who are non-developers or have had no experience in Ruby.

As such, people who have already dabbled in Ruby and RoR will find this a bit too introductory.

If you think that's the case, please change your RSVP to make space for absolute beginners.

Also, just a reminder: this is a pilot that should give us an idea on whether doing it in a bigger scale and frequently is viable. If this is successful (and I have every reason to believe it will be), we will be doing more of these in the future.

If you have any questions, feel free to email [masked]!

Great stuff! I hope this is open to non-developers also? I have been messing around with rails and ruby, so I'm not a total newb. I'll probably have to leave a little early(5.00/5.30) because I'm gigging at night(I'm a drummer), so hope that's not a problem.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
