Welcome everybody to the AmsterdamJS for this March! This time our friends at Optimizely are letting us host AmsterdamJS in their wonderful offices in the heart of Amsterdam. We have two awesome talks and, as always, some beer, snacks, and the most awesome crowd :)

Confirmed talks

Matt Althauser: How to use JavaScript to present the right thing, to the right user, at exactly the right time.

Arnout Kazemier: They see me polling, they hatin

Polling is the new WebSocket! In this talk I'll scratch the surface about the state of the real-time web the issues that surrounds it and the lessons we have learned from building Socket.IO, and how we apply them to Engine.IO and Socket.IO 1.0

Lightning talks

In this AmsterdamJS edition we want to start a new tradition of Lightning talks. If you want to talk about anything JavaScript but don't have enough material for a long talk, or want to demo something you are working on, feel free to let us know before or during the meetup and you'll have 15 minutes to expose your material. Since this is the first time we do that, we don't expect many lightning talks just yet, but keep it in mind for future meetups!

Great talks. Very kind of Optimizely to have hosted such a big crowd. Ironic that the guys from Optimizely held an unintended A/B test for their presentation. A being the blue screen due to the lost connection with the laptop and B being their talk on Optimizely. Not sure which had my preference: A: the blue screen or B: the promotional talk on their product, and a little JS i guess - haters gonna hate -. Cheers!
