Speaker: Cees-Jan Kiewiet

Talk: Having async fun with reactphp
Reactphp brings the async programming concept from node.js to PHP. This talk takes you on a journey what is possible with react. From a full blown websocket service to simple concurrent HTTP requests to hosting your own custom services tailored to your needs. The focus will be on how I used reactphp for my project WyriMaps. By using those real life examples I will take you through the systems reactphp components and their interaction with other components. After I guided you through you will know what reactphp is and can let your creativity run wild with it.

We got some awesome stuff to give away this month, so make sure you attend another awesome meetup!

It was really short and very hard to follow. But at least I now know what ReactPHP's USP is.

Thanks for your feedback Conor. One of the things I had as feedback is that it was to abstract and I made to many assumptions that people knew certain parts of how react works. Was that also the case for you? I'm working on a blog post explaining those bits and distill that knowledge into the next iteration of the talk. Good to hear you picked up something from my talk.

Yes, it was free so thanks for it. But as Michelle said this time it was chewy. I had better pizzas in my life :).

    Good morning fellow AmsterdamPHPers,

We're very excited to host tomorrow's meetup at our office. Since we're not in the city's center I took the time to write up some directions how to get here.

    Public transport:
Metro 50 stops at Metro station Henk Sneevlietweg, from there take the Vlaardingenlaan exit, go right and follow the street for about 150 meters.
Bus 62 stops (Maassluisstraat) nearly in front of the building.
Tram 2 stops at Metro station Heemstedestraat. You can either take the Maassluisstraat and walk here or take metro 50 for one stop to Henk Sneevlietweg.

By car, we have space for up to 40 cars:
    A10/E22: Take exit S107

The address based streetview is off in google maps, this is the correct streetview:

    Cees-Jan Kiewiet
    Vastgoeddata Nederland B.V.
    Vlaardingenlaan[masked]HM Amsterdam[masked]
