Monthly Meeting

Our regular monthly meeting hosted graciously by Pakhuis de Zwijger. Come straight to the studio on the fifth floor.

Mattijs Bliek from Grrr would share with us his ideas about the designer of the future, which tools and skills are relevant for him.

After the talk there will be plenty of room for socialising, exchanging experiences, and enjoying some drinks and snacks at Eetcafé de Zwijger.

Schedule:

19:00  Welcome
19:30  Introduction
19:40  "Designing in the future"
20:30  Social

Talk: Designing in the future

Today's websites are no longer static. What they feel like is in large part determined by things like transitions, animation, and video. We as designers must therefore evolve along with the web.

But where does design end and development start? Which tools do you need in 5 years time? How do you stay relevant as an interactive designer? This talk won't provide you with all the answers. But hopefully it will start a discussion, and it might even offer a small glimpse into the future.

Speaker: Mattijs Bliek

Digital native, forming the link between design and development at Grrr. Strong focus on user-centered design and technological advancement. Best at creating elegant and simple solutions.

Indeed thanks for the talk, good to see we are not alone in the struggle for the perfect workflow.

Sory guys I've missed it! I really wanted to come but the road was to slippery - my bike just lost a grip! But everything went out fine, no injuries, no bad feelings. I'm on 9th month of pregnancy - so they thought it's better to spend time in hospital under control then go to "some" meeting. I was not exactly agree but... it was too much risk for one day, I didn't take a second one.
Hope, you all have enjoyed the event and our new organisers! Thank you Mattjis for (as I've heared) great presentation!
See you all in a couple month!

Ow, and I forgot to say we have a job opening. No UX, but PHP backend.

Hi Katya, I was on the waitinglist until yesterday and just received a mail that I can come. Unfortunately, I made other plans for tonight (customer) that I really cannot change.
    Regards,
    Annemarie

We need to restrict a RSVP a bit because on the last two meetings non-showup rate was more then 50%. It's too much. It puts us in uncomfortable position to our sponsors (buying food) and people in waiting list who could come if you un-RSVP in time.

Why does it happen? Probably, you just forget un-RSVP. For that reason I've decided to bring RSVP date closer to event: you can RSVP from 22 of September, Monday, there would be a reminder about it.

I'm sorry for inconvenience and open for suggestions.

Sounds like a good idea. Would u be so kind reminding us when the RSVP opens again?

Makes sense. I've added a date to my agenda to remind me to RSVP.
