This community gathers everyone interested in UX and users. We talk about UX and things related to it: interaction design, visual design, user research, sketching and prototyping. We also reveal the role of UX in the development process, marketing, business, everyday life. We share our experience, we present our actual projects, we analyze trends and more.
How we do it: through a regular monthly meeting with an interesting presentation followed by a social. Feel free to come, whether you're a UX professional with decades of experience or if you'd like just have a look at what happens in UX today.

Current AI systems seek to mitigate AI mistakes by requiring human oversight, by keeping the human in the loop. However, this also puts the human in the unpleasant position of taking all responsibility for an output or action that was mainly determined by the AI. And while this approach may suffice for low-stakes scenarios where errors carry only minor consequences, we must exercise greater caution and deliberation when deploying AI in high-stakes situations.
Consider the risks of AI suggesting an incorrect treatment to a doctor, guiding a plane full of passengers into a storm, or recommending an innocent person for imprisonment by a judge. In such critical domains, we need to be more considerate and vigilant. But AI could be helpful in these situations.
So can AI systems be designed to help and support in high-stakes situations and not do more harm?
In this talk, we will learn about the issues with relying on human oversight and how AI systems can be designed to assist in high-stakes jobs such as pilot.

Cara Storath is a senior interaction designer, working at the intersection of tech and research. She started working on human-AI interaction as an academic researcher where she collaborated with EASA and Airbus on certifying AI for aviation. Cara is currently at argodesign, where she creates AI experiences for startups such as Builder.ai.HOST
