Anam Cara is an ancient Celtic term that roughly translates as "Soul Friend." This MeetUp group is a safe place for people around Placer County who want to engage in historic spiritual practices that will allow them to become soul friends. We meet occasionally to spend time in many forms of meditation, praying through ancient scriptures, lectio divina, walking the labyrinth, centering prayer and other contemplative practices that are thousands of years old. We offer an open and loving environment where each person can find their own rhythm of life in the context of friends willing to help and experiment. We spend time fasting and feasting together as we contemplate the mind-body connection. We also seek opportunities to do acts of kindness in service of others and often spend time just enjoying the beauty of creation. Instead of busying ourselves with activities we want to find practical ways to fully develop a lifestyle of quiet holiness as children of God.
