“Some people say: ‘The Western man cannot meditate.’ That is not true. I gave Kriya Yoga initiation to [Rajarsi Janakananda] shortly after I had met him; and since then I have never
seen him when he is not inwardly communing with God.” -Paramhansa Yogananda
Rajarsi Janakananda (James J. Lynn) was the beloved leading disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda. Mr. Lynn first received Kriya Yoga initiation from Paramahansaji in 1932; his spiritual advancement was so swift that the Guru lovingly referred to him as “Saint Lynn,” until bestowing on him the monastic title of Rajarsi Janakananda in 1951.
This Wednesday night, we will meditate, remember, and celebrate the life and mahasamadhi of this great Western Yogi.
All spiritual affiliations or none are welcome and no experience is required!
This meetup is part of a series of ongoing weekly meditation group meetings at this location.
We are a non-profit group but donations are always welcome! (suggested donation of 5-10 dollars but nobody turned away for lack of funds)
