Meditation and Practicality

Want to know how to support and sustain your deepest ideals yet still flourish in the material world? Yogic lifestyle and meditation practice, with it's innate spiritual power, is also, at it's heart, deeply practical. Who wouldn't want to feel more relaxed physically, cooler under pressure, a clearer mind, and more intuitive in one's own heart-center? Described by the yoga master Paramhansa Yogananda as a "portable paradise," meditation has also been called the "ultimate problem solver" for facing challenges in the "cold light of day."

Good format for both beginners and experienced meditators. As the title of the meet-up suggested, the practical side of spirituality was explained in a brief but useful talk by the leader. The meditation was part guided and part silent. The chanting (accompanied by guitar this time - a rare treat at this meet-up) and hatha yoga postures provided preparation for deeper focus. Very open group - everyone comes and goes as they please.
