Special Diwali Week "Festival of Lights" Celebration!

Join us with celebratory candle lights, a talk on ancient Dewali's symbolic meaning, meditation on the spirit of this beloved festival, and Indian sweets!

The tradition and story of Diwali lies the age old significance of the victory of light over darkness; the lights that illuminate homes and hearts in India, like traditions all over the world, a symbolic renewal of hope. During Diwali, lights illuminate every corner of India and the scent of incense sticks hangs in the air, mingled with the sounds of fire-crackers, joy, togetherness and hope.

While popularly known as the "festival of lights", the most significant spiritual meaning is "the awareness of the inner light". Central to yogic philosophy is the assertion that there is something beyond the physical body and mind which is pure, infinite, and eternal, called the Atman. The celebration of Dewali refers to the light of higher knowledge dispelling all ignorance, the ignorance that masks one's true nature, not as the body, but as the unchanging, infinite, immanent and transcendent reality- bringing peace and radiant joy

This Wednesday night, in addition to our own tribute to the spirit of Diwali - plus we will also be celebrating our group's three year anniversary!

Joy is within you!

All spiritual affiliations or none are welcome and no experience is required!

This meetup is part of a series of ongoing weekly meditation group meetings at this location.

We are a non-profit group but donations are always welcome! (suggested donation of 5-10 dollars but nobody turned away for lack of funds)

A lovely evening; thank you, Paul! My guests from India really enjoyed it, too.

Deep peace and festive celebration! There are so few affordable, centrally-located, open to the public Diwali celebrations, so this was a blessing! Attendees felt the joyful and healing vibrations of the ritual and practice.
