All Natural Latex Mattresses

I first learned about Mulligan Mattress from Holly Morello’s Portland Paleo/Primal Network blog when she posted that her family purchased all natural latex mattresses there. Then last Saturday night at dinner Jennifer told us she recently listened to a Mulligan Mattress presentation at their store and plans to buy one herself. Jennifer explained that by law mattresses need to be fire-resistant, which means most are treated with many chemicals that off-gas toxins. Mulligan Mattress has found a way to provide chemical-free mattresses. Since I'm interested in lowering the general toxic load on my body, I decided to hear a presentation from owner Gary Kramer on latex mattresses myself and then try some out to see how they feel. I thought I'd see if any of you would like to join me.

I won't be in town either but I'd love to hear about the presentation afterward, even if it's just general details.

My only negative comment is that Gary assured me that I would be able to use my medical flex (HSA, health savings account, pre-tax) account funds. Well, my particular insurance did not, so I ended up losing $350 in my flex account. Won't do that again!

I did a lot of research independently which led me to Mulligan Mattress. I listened to Gary's presentation and everything he said matched up with what I had researched about fire retardants, chemicals and the "greenwashing" of the mattress industry. Plus the beds were super comfortable! I am planning to buy a mattress from him in the next week.

I've had my wonderful, firm, latex foam mattress for 30 years, and recommend it highly (although it was only guaranteed for 25 years!) I'd like to see Mulligan Mattresses. Latex foam is the best!

Just wait till you here his spiel! Those coil mattresses are made to only last 5-7 years, despite what they claim.

Owner Gary Krammer is great. He talked us into getting our king size latex mattress in November 2012. I LOVE, love, love our mattress! I love crawling into bed. You should go. Check out their website beforehand and watch the video about how the latex is processed and shipped. I can't go as I will be helping a friend move that weekend, but you all should go, definitely! :)
