Maker Nights @ Loussac

We are going to start offering Open Shop nights called "Maker Nights @ Loussac" every two weeks at the library, in the Innovation Lab on the 4th floor. We have plenty of tables, chairs and space; you just need to bring tools and whatever else you need!

Hopefully we will be able to collaborate on projects, teach each other new skills and make some awesome projects come to life.

We will have an 'allowed' tools list soon (we have to keep it fairly clean) and everyone will need to sign a liability waiver the first time they visit. Use common sense when bringing tools please, nothing with spinning electric blades, open flames, etc...

I'm going to have to take my family to the airport, they moved the departure time apparently. So I won't be able to make it tonight. @Erika: I usually bring my 5 and 7 year old, and random stuff for kids to work on (mine and anyone else's who are interested). Usually a Snap Circuits set and an EV3 Mindstorm, but sometimes they'd rather bring plain Legos or other craft projects.

We are definitely kid friendly. If they're old enough to be interested in 'makeing' they're old enough to bring along.

Question: Is this an appropriate space for youngsters to accompany a parent or is there a separate meetup that includes kids?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
