Lets have a Maker day for kids.

I know some members have kids so why don't we create some maker activities for them. I have a couple of ideas which I'll prepare for and I'm hoping a couple of other members will come prepared with an activity.

Feel free to invite non-members who have children but at least one of their parents should be there, too. We need to know how many kids will be attending and their ages so we can try to have appropriate activities.

I'll bring a few snacks, please consider bringing something to add to it.

Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a great Meetup and I appreciate all the activities that were shared.

I'm getting frustrated with how these comment windows work (or maybe it's just my poor use of the tablet I was trying to use) but until the last couple of days I wasn't sure if we'd have many young makers at the meetup. Now that it's clear we will, I'd like to encourage attendees to bring something to share if possible. I will have two or three activities (maybe more) but I'm sure the kids will burn through whatever we have pretty quick, so any help would be appreciated.

Dohnn, I don't have a complete plan. I will be bringing materials to make tic tac flashlights, I also have couple of arduinos and the parts to do some simple builds. I am going to bring some craft sticks and paper for paper airplanes.

HI, I'm new. My friend Corny told me about you guys. I have a "Little" through the Big Brothers organization. He is twelve, and his brother is ten. If they are in town I would like to bring them. (they went to Kenai to visit grandma for xmas). My Little and I built a pneumatic rocket launcher from a Make Magazine article a couple years ago that we could bring along. We could have kids make paper rockets that they could shoot. I need to call them first.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
