Inspired by the Children & Nature Network, this is an active group of Anchorage parents who wish to meet other families of all ages with an interest in being outdoors and in nature. We live in a city with an amazing backyard and want to make the most of it, while also instilling a deep appreciation for it in our children. It is hoped that this group will allow parents to network, share resources and plan activities together. The group is evolving and there are events we haven't even dreamed of yet. Some activities may be geared to families with children in specific age ranges while others are just simply designed to have fun in the wild. Your ideas are wanted & welcome.

Anchorage Outdoor Family Network is designed to be a co-op of sorts. Our hope is that ALL participating families will organize at least 1 event per year to maintain membership.

Many of our events take place in the Alaskan wilderness and participating in them is ultimately is at your own risk. We trust that each adult will act according to what is in the best interest of their children and themselves.

This group is for families with children under 18 years of age. In order to maintain safety and security adults must be accompanied by their child to all events, unless otherwise specified as a parent only event.

NO DOGS PLEASE - We would love to say yes to dogs, most of us have them, but we're afraid of what would happen if we all brought our K9 kids. We want the focus to remain on enjoying the outdoors with our children.
