If you're interested in car pooling, *10:00:00am departure*: meet by Ben Boeke/Sullivan Arena in the parking lot right next to A Street, by the baseball fields. I have room for 4.
If you'd rather drive yourself, meet at South Forks Trailhead at 10:30am. Click above for the map to the trailhead.
We plan on running this at an easy pace (Hikers are welcome, but we'll have to organize a second group). Bring layers, and gators if you have them. Expect possible mud, and several inches of snow. An extra pair of socks in your bag would be a good idea.
Trail Stats(600 feet elevation gain):
The first 2 miles of this trail is a brand new trail in GREAT condition. After the bridge at mile 2, it is your typical trail with muddy sections, which may (hopefully) be frozen by this time. It is 4.5 miles to the Symphony Lake bridge, which is followed by another mile of small boulder-hopping to a viewpoint overlooking both Symphony and Eagle Lakes.
We are hoping to make it at least to this point (5.5 miles), but if time and conditions allow, we'll keep running around Symphony Lake to the back of the valley (14 miles roundtrip).
