Willawa Lakes from Glen Alps (12-13 miles roundtrip)

Info:

We'll meet near the ranger station at Glen Alps at 10am. Let me know if you want a ride; I will be coming from the downtown area.

This will be a fairly moderate paced run on a good trail. It is muddy in sections during the summer, but it should be completely solid ground by now.

I'll be there but might turn around early if my knee bothers me

I hope to attend as well. Kenton - if you're interested in posting something on Peters Creek Valley trail or out to Seattle Creek in Portage before the season closes out, I tentatively plan to do both before the season closes out (both should stay open a little bit after snow fall drops below 1000 feet and most other trails become more difficult) - I'd be happy to go with a a meetup group on either or both - perhaps a meetup group run for Peters Creek, and something informal with yourself and Mike M for Seattle Creek so we can verify that it's an acceptable route for a larger crowd?

Not sure if I'm free on Sunday. I'll know more by Saturday morning.

I need to put time into renovation work today, but would still be up for tomorrow. If we elect to try the Portage area Seattle Creek route, it would be best to go between 10 am to 3 pm due to the tides.

I'm interested in attending if the weather cooperates. Can I carpool with anyone that is going?

Sure I can come pick you up or Kenton. Where do you live or where would be a good spot to pick you ?

Im by the sullivan arena downtown if anyone wants a ride from there!

Alright, so snow levels should come all the way down to the surface late tonight. Probably pick up about 3 inches at Glen Alps. Then things should be clearing during the late morning on Sat. Still not sure if I will be there Kenton as night shifts can be smooth or brutal. I'll let you know.

Im curious how icy the roads might get. Hopefully we will see you tomorrow!

Hey Kenton, it won't be icy out there. Glen Alps parking lot is only 32F right now and the road surfaces are still above freezing. I won't be there this morning, but we will connect again soon! Have a great run!

I would be interested in carpooling from downtown.

I was wondering when you would sign up for a run, Kelly! Can you do 9:25am at the parking lot in front of ben boeke/ball fields next to A Street?

Hi Kenton! I think with the forecast I may try Turnagain Arm trail starting at Potter's Marsh. Let me know if you want to go there. Otherwise I'll keep checking the site and sign up again! :)

I'll likely take the ballfield back... maybe take another swing at O'Malley. Somewhat depends on the weather.

Do you have a preference--prospect heights or glen alps?

      October 30, 2013

    • Mike M

I vote to keep it from Glen Alps. The scenery and return route options are more interesting.

Hey Kenton! I get off nights at 7am and should be able to make it. I'll keep an eye on weather til then.

    October 29, 2013

    • Debbie M.

i can do it earlier too

      October 30, 2013

    • Meredyth

I can do it at 10. No earlier! No no! That said, I will also only be available at 10 if the weather isn't horrible, because I'm just that dedicated to trail running.
