Cycling Hope Road, Camping in Hope, Day Hike to Gull Rock

What: Car camping, cycling, day hiking in Hope. Such a beautiful and quiet place! We will meet at Carr's Huffman at 9 a.m. decide carpooling as needed, and proceed driving to Hope. When we arrive we will set up camp, eat, and go for a bicycle ride on the beautiful, low traffic, Hope Road. After dinner we can do a hike to Hope Point or just go for a stroll around Hope. We can have a campfire, roast hot dogs, drink some adult beverages, and just bask in the "Real Alaska." We will sleep in tents Saturday night, eat Sunday breakfast, do some more riding. Plan on breaking camp early afternoon and departing Hope about 3 p.m. Return to Anchorage about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Bring: clothing options for cycling and hiking. Bike helmets mandatory, car camping gear, food, stove, tent, sleeping bag and pad.

Fishing: I will bring my rod and tackle to try for some early season trout and Dolly Varden in Resurrection Creek.

Dogs: OK, But you will need to plan on where they will be on the Hope road bike ride. If bringing a dog you may want to just plan on hiking only.

State in your RSVP what type of group gear you have or need to share, if you can drive or need a ride. Riding may be more tricky due to hauling bicycles. State if you can haul extra bikes or if you need to share a ride with someone that can haul your bike

We could use some Duraflame logs to help with a nice campfire. Pick one up to bring along if you can.

Remember to share gas and expenses if you ride. Hope is about 70 miles each way.
