·  This week I would like to run Glacier Creek.  Meet at the Potter Section parking lot and we will figure out the car situation. We will drive to Girdwood and leave a car or two at the take out point then drive up Crow Pass road to the Winner Creek Tram parking lot. From the parking lot we will need to hike down to the tram and put in. This is about a 20 minute hike, one mile, so you need to have you gear packed for hiking There a class III rapid right after the put in, the remaining river will be class I and II with standing waves. This is definitely not a trip for a first time paddler. You must be able to control you boat

If you have not paddled with me before I will be contacting you to ask about you experience

What to Bring

-- Boat of choice (raft, pack raft, IK, whitewater kayak, solo or tandem canoe

(only canoes with full flotation and sufficient skills for class II water)

-- PFD (REQUIRED for any/all Adventurers boating outings); whistle on your PFD (not on zipper pull)

-- Helmet (REQUIRED for kayakers, pack rafters, IK paddlers, canoes)

-- Dry suit (wet suit at the very least for all but the rafters)

-- Throw bag (REQUIRED 1/boat)

-- Bailing bucket &/or sponge (depending on type of water craft)

-- Extra clothes in a dry bag

-- Water & snack

It is at the far end of Potter Marsh on the right side of the road ,as you head out of town.

Is the Potter section parking lot the same thing as the Potter's Marsh parkway mg lot?
