Wednesday Wander - rain or shine for 90 minutes of exercise

  • September 4, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • MOA Park - Taku Lake (north shore)

This week will be a walk if it's raining or bike ride if the ground is dry. We will meet in the Taku Lake parking lot at 6:30 pm and walk for about 90 minutes along Campbell Creek then head somewhere to eat dinner if one chooses!  To get there you turn north onto King and when it ends you turn left to the Taku Lake parking lot.

Dogs are fine if you're walking. Must wear a helmet if you're riding.  No exceptions.

******************************************************************

Wednesday weekly wanders repeat mostly weekly, sometimes not; season and weather determine the activity and place, which will be posted no later than Tuesday night, and usually earlier.  If you have any suggestions or requests, feel free to email Jo, Judith or Vern.

And remember, not all who wander are  lost.... at least most of the time.

Interesting, I was a brisk walk the distance I went. Thanks, Judith. I wish that I had made it to the bridge.

I had a fun time meandering along the banks of Campbell Creek, and we saw a nice rainbow to boot. Thanks, Judith.

All 4 of the New Seward Hwy. bridges @ Campbell Ck. are now in place. And the Campbell Ck. Trail improvement under the bridges is taking shape. It would be nice to have the Trail open for winter use. Some older parts of the Trail seem under stress from all the recent rain and the rapidly rising creek. Will the Trail make it to freeze-up before parts erode away?

It seems nothing can dampen our wandering spirits! Thanks, Judith and Gerry for another nice walk.

We all got a chance to try out our rain gear, that's for sure. 9 of us headed out and walked for 90 minutes -- from Taku Lake to the Seward Highway and back and had alot of fun.

I lost my niece, called the police, then found her. She took a right at the monument, home now.

please meet right by the lake in the parking lot. the map isn't showing it right. there's only one taku lake which is off 76th from old seward or from off of dimond at king. see you there.

Having alternate meeting places is confusing. Do you want to meet at the paking lot at the north end of King St, or at the map location of the bubble on 76th?

Alternate directions: From Old Seward Highway, go west on 76th, it runs right into the park.

Wednesday weather prediction is rain and wind. I plan to walk, unless a miracle happens.
