Be among the first to ride on the new Campbell Creek trail under the Seward Hwy

The Campbell Creek Trail under the Seward Highway was paved Friday. It "should be" open for bike riding on Saturday 9/28. Let's be among the first to use this long dreamed of connection between the east and west portions of the trail.

We'll meet at Taku Lake at 4:00 PM, bike east to the Alaska Native Medical Center area and around University and Goose Lakes, then back to Taku Lake. If there is interest and energy, we can continue to the west end of the trail and back to Taku Lake.

For those interested, we can walk or ride to the King Street Brewery and try out their Octoberfest lager or an alternative beverage.

Always great to meet-up with my fun friends. Exploring the art and food truck goodies was a bonus.

I've ridden the trail earlier in the week when it was open, but still gravel. They paved it Thursday and Friday and said it "should be" open today. I'll check it out. But even if it's not open, there are some new paths on the sides of the highway that make for an easy go-around.

Note: ignore the map. It will get you close. Best to get to 76th and King St. The parking lot is 1/2 block west of that intersection.

What a great summer for urban trail upgrades...(& reasons for toasts at the Brewery).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
