It is so cool to get aerial views of Turnagain Arm, Indian Valley, Ship Lake Valley, and Bird Creek. However, we will have to work to get at them. The first 3 miles are very tough. Up and up and up. You see a ridge and think you're almost there. Then you get to that ridge and there's another. I have hiked the Brid Ridge many times but never walked along the ridge up to the Overlook. Hope snow or wind won't be againt us. However, I have to say it's really cool to walk along the spine of a mountain.
-- Ski/ trekking poles
--Ice grippers or Kahtoola- (hope don't have to use them)
--Snowshoese- may need them on the Ridge
-- Wind &/or rain shell and pants
-- Dress in non-cotton layers so you can shed or add clothes as temps change
-- Water & lunch and trail snacks
DOGS are welcome but can very cold and windy
There is $5 parking fee at this location
