Potter - McHugh hike or run

  • January 16, 2011 · 1:00 PM
  • Potters Creek Trail head

Updated: time change to 1p So, skiing's not too wondrous right now & no new snow in sight
crying. Anyone up for a brisk walk of the Potter Creek trail? I'd love to run but at this moment, I feel more inclined to cocoa & fudge so can't imagine being zippy SUn am. So, if you're inclined, RSVP and state your pace & I'm sure there'll be different paces. The state parks trail head just past the Potter mailboxes. Drive up the hill. Dogs fine but leash/poop bag STUDDED shoes or cleats or whatever makes your shoes not slide out from under you on the ice. I use Ice Bugs. $5 or sticker (Avail x the street at the ranger station or AMH or REI)

Had a blast the trail is in excellent shape and the company and pace were awesome.

This was a photo-op run with moose, scenery and great people. Trail conditions are AWFUL though. Super slippery. Warmer than expected temps were a pleasant surprise.

This hike got us outdoors on a day when it would have been soooooo easy to veg out. Nice views of the Arm, and good company. Have great respect for those who ran on the trial, as it was incredibly rough and pitted.

FYI: The upper parking lot at Potter Creek is closed for the winter! The gate is closed, so you can't drive up the hill. The lower parking lot is open, but only has room for 5-7 cars. I noticed this last night when I stopped by after the Potter Marsh skate meetup.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
