This will be a 5 night backpack with drop-off by floatplane at Telequana Lake and pick-up at Twin Lakes, site of Dick Proenekke's cabin. We have 2 groups-1 leaving 8/11 with pickup 8/16 and the second 8/16-21.
It will be the trip of a lifetime, and will involve meandering over hills above treeline, leisurely "travel" days with many opportunities to ridgewalk or peak bag in the eves.
You will need to be a strong experienced backpacker with an easygoing personality. There is a somewhat established trail but also a lot of route-finding and a small amount of bushwhacking (most travel is above treeline). There are 2 potentially waist deep rivers to cross. It could rain for 4 days so will be nice to have people to make us laugh instead of cry if it does.
The tough info-airfare is $600.00 We fly out of Merrill Field.
As I said, this trip is full with all deposits paid.
