Blacktail Rocks

Hike begins at Mount Baldy trailhead. We will hike up baldy, continue along the ridge for a couple miles, and then hike up blackmail rocks. Total elevation gain is at least 2,500 feet and at least 7 miles round trip. Pace will be moderate with breaks and I expect the it to take about 6 hours.

Suggested gear: Wind layers, sunscreen, sun glasses, bug spray, layers, water, food, etc. Also theres still some snow up there, so maybe kahtoolas.

Had lots of fun. Challenging for me with the scrambling but everyone was patient and supportive, which as always is very appreciated! Thanks Catherine for another great hike. (Girl Army)

Excellent hike! The trail is drying out on Baldy but still some mud. We made it to the first summit of Blacktail rocks and then rock hugged and scrambled over the 2nd set of rocks and little further and almost to tge third set After that there was very hard packed on steep slopes that was difficult to dig into even with katoohlas do we decided to turn back. Lots of snow on the ridge to round top still Vista point but it seems like it's melting fast
