Practice our rescue techniques

Let’s get together and practice our rescue techniques before the boating season gets started. Meet at Eagle River campground rapids at 5:30 Thursday May 29 until? Bring your packraft, canoe or raft to practice falling out of and getting back in to (self-rescue), a throw rope to practice with for those who don’t self-rescue. You should have a dry suit so you can practice being rescued. We will also talk about safety on the river. A helmet and PFD are mandatory on all Meetups. A pair of neoprene gloves along with a thermos of something hot would be a plus. You may want to bring a snack. Remember if you want someone to rescue you, you should be able to rescue them.
Be sure and wear fleece or other warm cloths under your Dry suit
This is open to Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and those who want to learn how to use a throw rope I will start the weekly trips next week

Not many showed up, but had a good time. We got some swim time and rope practice, then paddled bridge it bridge. Robert did a great job on this meetup. Thanks again for organizing it.

Depending on how long this goes, I am up for a paddle bridge to bridge after we practice our rescue techniques. Did it over the past weekend in a pack-raft and it was very nice. Water level was lower and slow, not pushy at all. Great for practicing your eddie turns and maneuvering through obstacles.

Can paddle boarders participate in this? We did this kind of practice thing when we whitewater SUP'D on upper Potomac in MD.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
