Near Point is a rounded alpine knob with views of the Alaska Range, Cook Inlet, and Anchorage. Distance is 7 miles, with 2000 feet of elevation gain. This trail is easy by Chugach State Park standards, but the final 1/3 is steep. We may split into pace groups and might stop to pick berries, so plan to be out 4-6 hours depending on your hiking speed.
