Hike up to McHugh from Bear Valley
This location is shown only to members
WHEN/WHERE:
Meet 10 AM at Carrs on Huffman rd and will carpool or caravan from there.
Trail head is located end of Honey Bear Ln in Bear valley. If anyone wants to meet us there, please let me know. There are a very few parking spots at the TH.
It is about 6 miles RT, plan to be out for 5 to 6 hours. The first two peaks are steep but it gets easier. This is a better trail than from the McHugh parking lot and fun to walk on the ridge.
BRING:
--Ice grippers or Kahtoola
--Snowshoes
-- Ski/ trekking poles (optional but very helpful on the steeps and on rocky or muddy areas)
-- Wind &/or rain shell and pants
-- Dress in non-cotton layers so you can shed or add clothes as temps change
-- Water & trail snacks
DOGS are welcome

Kyong WEvent HostAssistant OrganizerStarted with blue ski but as always, got windy on the ridge and clouds traveled to see us. Went to peak but didn't have a chance to have luch and coffee because of strong wind and snow. Good be out with wonderful hikers. thank you all.
