Hike Flaptop Mountain

This location is shown only to members

Meet at Glen Alps parking lot at the TH (snowcovered steps). Summit: 3510 Ft. Elevation gain: 1280 feet from the parking lot.

Parking cost: $5, unless you have a sticker.

Trail: use the winter trail, to the left of Blueberry loop. Trail is steep with patches of ice.

Recommended gear: crampons, pole and an ice axe. Can use just kahtoolahs, but you need an ice axe, a ski/trekking pole and experience in winter hiking.

As always dress in layers, can be very windy up top. Bring something (warm) to drink and a snack to share.

Duration: 2-3 hours Dogs welcome.

I have an extra ice axe if somebody needs one. Let me know if you like to carpool, otherwise we will meet at the TH. I prefer to start the hike on time!

    A winter hike up Flattop is always enjoyable. Lots of snow this time and good company. It took Walt and I two hours, thanks to Walt's steady pace.
