Beginner's Cross Country Skiing

I've classic skiied for a while but want to learn to skate ski. I've been a handful of times but have a hard time getting out because everyone I know is an expert. I just want to get some mileage (yardage?). I'm not good at it, but I want to get better and I like the workout. So I invite any of you who want to ski but don't have fellow-beginners to go hone your skills with. If you want to classic, or skate, or do anything with our beginner group outside in the winter, come out and play! I have 2 dogs, so if whenever possible I will pick a venue that will allow our companions to come out and play with us. As much as I like taking my dogs along, last week on ungroomed terrain was a bit challenging so I'd like something groomed so everyone can have as good an experience as possible. Doug says that Russian Jack is the best option, so that's where we'll go.

Got some great advice on improving my skiing, and definitely got a workout skiing around Russian Jack.

We had the fasters 7-ywar old on skis. Xavier raced each of us at some point in the evening and he always won. He must have beat me in at least 5 or 6 races. Very nice snow; freshly groomed. Good temperature and not a breath of breeze. We were virutally the only skier in the park.

Arrived kinda late, so I didn't see anyone else. Snow was good, I think I'm improving!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
