Mellow Novice Snowshoe, Glen Alps to Middle Fork Campbell Creek

New and experienced snowshoers - meet at 11 at Restrooms for out and back snowshoe fun. With new snow we'll take our time, take photos, alternate trail breakers and snowshoe out an hour or so and some will turn back. we'll start on Powerline, turn left on footbridge and follow middle fork loop trail. This has ups and downs and organizer will stay with the slower folks and is looking for others to volunteer to break the trail for others, as necessary. judith's mellow meetups include bringing snacks to share, prepare by dressing in removable layers. snowshoes often kick up snow onto one's bottom so snowpants or waterproof layer is recommended. Bring camera, day or fanny pack with lunch, thermos with hot drink, small pad if you wish to sit down for a break, spare hat, spare warm socks, leave cotton layers at home. Organizer is planning to be out just a couple of hours as it's first time out on new snowshoes, but others can make this a fabulous 6 hour adventure if you choose. Questions? call judith[masked], but limited coverage at the trailhead.

Nice hike up to the sun on Little O with Abe and Shane, followed by a sunset stroll around Blueberry Knoll with ravens soaring in the wind.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Having a good size group was perfect, we were able to create smaller groups based on what we wanted to get out of the day. I can't wait for the next snowshoe outing!

Some of us detoured up Little O instead, to catch a few rays and blow the cobwebs out. Thanks Judith !

Hi. I'm interested in going, but I'm not sure if my car can make it up the hill to Flattop. Is anyone interested in meeting somewhere in town and carpooling? I can pitch in for gas/coffee.

    Thanks!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
