Hi, Dave I'm starting to wonder about going the Falls Creek route with the bear so present and two new members who may or may not be able to do 5,000 ft of elevation. We'll need to stay together because of the bear, but one person said he hasn't hiked in a long time...want to climb Magnficent/Sign
ifigant? I've also been wanting to do Round Top/Vista from Ptarmigan TH. Sorry to be a worry wart, but ...
Hey Dave, Wish we were on the mountain hiking and I wish I had a chance to say a proper good-bye... but just wanted to tell you that I can't thank you enough for all of your support and encouragement. You are one of the best period and I count myself lucky that I had the chance to hike in Alaska with you. I never worried for a moment when I was out trekkin' with you! So.. thank you... very much. And I hope our paths cross again soon. :0)
Hi Dave, thanks for joining the Movies in Anchorage (MiA) Meetup! We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. This group is intended to be member driven, so please feel free to create new meetups and share this Meetup opportunity with your friends. If you would like to take a more official leadership role, I will gladly add you to the leadership team. Looking forward to meeting you!
Hi Dave! Feel free to check out my AT Trailjournal- you should be able to get to it from www.trailjourna
ls.com/mogo ('Mogo' = short for 'Mountaingoat, my trail name). I love that section of trail in North Carolina, although my memories of the smokies aren't the greatest (sub-0 temps when we went through). my brother and I weren't in any film- was there one made? i'd love to check it out. Looking forward to meeting you- maybe at the potluck tonight!
Hi Dave, I hiked up to the end of the ridge from the lakes, walked as much as I could. I saw a few avalaches on the Cantara? it still has too much snow. When I got to near the bottom, it looks SCARY!!! so turned around. Triangle peak has too much snow too. I am hiking Matanuska Glacier tomorrow with my husband and friends, this is my yearly thing, in May and Aug (compare the pictures of formations).
Thank you for your invitation. Kyong
"William Wallace"...that
was an AWESOME and clever rejoinder, Dave! Got me laughing! I do think we need to do an all-kilt hike sometime though!
Brad Pitt you ain't! ;-)
Dave,
Thanks for sharing your photos from 5450. They're great!
Dave, I have an extra pair of B/C skis you can borrow, depending on snow conditions. They have NNN-BC bindings, or, I have a pair of B/C skis without metal edges. They're waxable skis, but I can help you wax them. I'm going to postpone the Skookum Glacier trip to another weekend as the snow conditions are non-existent the first couple of miles of that trip. I'm going to relocate and go backcountry skiing in an area with lots of deep powder snow!
Happy birthday to you; happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Dave, happy birthday to you! I hope you and Sharon enjoyed a delicious dinner. See you out on the trails soon!
