day hikes, non death-defying mountain biking, lake kayaking, walking, fishing for salmon; x-country skiing, hiking w ice grippers till snowshoes needed, ice-skating and making snowman with carrot nose. outside healthy fun with others
a moderate day hike with sunshine, lunch break sharing great company and good food too.
weekends, after work, summer long weekends or mid-week is worth taking off for fun.
chugach, campbell creek, Hatcher Pass trails are fabulous & away from Los Anchorage, jungles of indonesia,

ICE SKATING ALERT --- Please share what you know about frozen lakes, ponds and streams
"re Hidden Lake on 10/19/09 - it did appear to be frozen over the surface from the freezing cold winds, but as much as i love to ice skate i would never have tried it. i'd guestimate it was frozen only a couple of inches down."
