The hike starts at the parking lot for Muir Beach in Marin County, and immediately climbs into the nearby hills, where we'll be treated to sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the North Bay, and glimpses of San Francisco: http://www.bahiker.co... Distance and difficulty: This is a moderate hike that climbs about 900 feet from the trailhead. Seasoned hikers may consider it moderately easy, but because of the elevation changes and distance it will require some stamina. Total distance, out and back, will be about 9 miles. This is the preliminary plan for our hike, but some of the details may change as we get closer to the date. The hike should last about 3-1/2 hours, depending on the number of pauses. In general, we'll plan to go at a moderately slow pace to enjoy the view, enjoy the wildlife and plant life, and to take photos.
