I'm reading a bit about Android Studio which appears to be a sort of mature beta version (if there is such a thing). I'd like someone (or some few) to volunteer to read this and to walk through the download and any examples.
I'm going to do the same, but will have lots to do between now and then and would like to have some backup.
I know it's still environments and not jumping into coding, but I think it's important to know the options.
*** Can someone volunteer to walk us all through the use of Eclipse for Android development also? This will give us a good comparison. ***
Come join our regular meetups to show your techniques, tips and apps to the group. If you would like to make a presentation to the group, please send us a message or post a comment on the meetup date you would like to present. Your presentations should be around 5 - 15 minutes long and allow for a few minutes for questions / code demonstration.
Please be prepared to demonstrate your work - bring your laptop with the SDK Loaded - we will have a projector with a VGA and HDMI port available for you.
We encourage adults with teen age kids who are inclined to learn to join us. As you can tell from the app topic we chose - we're making it fun. But please note we are serious about learning - so we encourage people to have their laptop LOADED with the android sdk to get the best out of the experience!
A word of thanks to the following people who help make our meetup so successful:
Cultural Alliance Center of Long Beachand Jennifer for being our Host for the evening.
Trish for hooking us up with the Cultural Alliance Center and for helping with Refreshments
Tanya for providing the organizational support
We are kindly asking $5 entrance donation to cover our costs and a donation for food that will go to the Cultural Alliance Center to help cover their costs.
