Thanks for your message Mike! Yes, I am familiar with Putamayo compilations and I just love them. I own several.

I spent a month in Turkey a few years ago and had a chance to see some really phenomenal musicans. I am a dancer and prefer Arabic music--it is what I mainly listen to--but I do have a love for classical Persian and Turkish music. In fact, tonight I'm going to see a Persian Classical Music concert featuring master musician, Kayhan Kalhor, at Hebst Theater in SF.
