Android Native Development on Intel

The next meetup will be something special! A joint event of AndroidHeads and Google Developer Group Vienna (GDG).

Intro

While ARM-based processors are still the vast majority for powering Android devices, with the latest Intel Atom CPU there is a powerful alternative available and being used in more and more mainstream devices (e.g. the Samsung Galaxy Tab[masked]).

We look into the development of Android applications using the Native Development Kit (NDK) and some guidelines when porting code optimized for ARM to the Intel platform.

Agenda

18:00 - 18:30 Android NDK - developing using C/C++

18:35 - 19:05 Optimizing native code for Intel architecture

19:10 - 19:40 Lightning talks

19:40 - 21:00 Pizza, drinks and discussions

You can either register right here OR at https://android-native-intel.eventbrite.com/ - no need to register twice. Lightning talks are welcome.

    I missed the first half hour. Are the slides available? Since it seems the presentation is nothing but reading the words directly from the slides.
