Let's meet up and talk about angular

Meetup says this is the only angular meetup within 50 miles of San Francisco, and the last meetup was in May. Let's get the ball rolling again with an informal bar meetup, no need for speakers, nothing else, just angular. People might be encouraged to bring show-and-tells, but mainly let's just show up.

Time and locations are just a suggestion. Moderators, pick a better one, if you like.

    Anyone interested in Angular-Meteor?

Oh yes, I live in SF and am trying a deep dive into angularjs. So far I've not hit bottom but have to come up for air when my brain is full. If anyone want to get together to swap experiences, I'm all for it.

I like the "hockey stick" learning curve analogy. Anything powerful is probably going to take a bit of study to be able to use it well.

IMHO, angular certainly is powerful, but the 'hockey stick' learning curve is mostly a result of the dearth of suitable documentation more than anything else :-)

Agreed. Really enjoyed talking, checking out code, and sharing interesting links.

I have a student that has a test tomorrow, I tutor organic chem for fun and no-profit ;), so I'm off to Oakland tonight to help them out. Let's schedule another of these! I very seldom go to meetups that are discussion/sharing based and I like that idea. I can watch talks afterward.

I would like to know if its happening tomorrow night as well.

Since there doesn't seem to be a consensus on The Broken Record going down, and the google event is waitlisted, I'll be streaming the google event from my studio in the TL, pizza and beer. Send me a private message if your interested, can host 4 or 5 comfortably.

Given the Google meetup in the comments, is this still on at The Broken Record tomorrow night?

Funny. I wonder why it doesn't show up in the search - if I had known, I wouldn't have chosen this time.Maybe it measures it at over 50 miles.

Arg....San Jose is far, but I suppose Google is worth it. Anyone interested in zipcar / rental car-pooling down from San Francisco to attend the event in Patricks comment http://www.meetup.com/AngularJS-MTV/events/136001952/ ? Or if not carpooling, watching the livestream from mi casa in SF with a couple of beers?

      you can take CalTrain

Getting to the meetup by public transit (from Caltrain)

FROM THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CALTRAIN STATION

Look for the Shoreline Shuttle stop (2nd bus shelter in outer circle, near entrance <--use "Satellite" view to see best). You'll be riding in the reverse direction from most commuters, but the shuttle itself goes in a loop. Take the shuttle to stop #7 (Google) and get off at the corner of Charleston and Huff. You'll be a 2 minute walk from the meetup.

Here are the relevant stop times:

Leaving MTV Caltrain (note, pickup times are approximate)

      5:06pm
      5:27pm
5:46pm <--note, this arrives to Bldg 46 at approx 6:09p (after the first talk starts)

      http://www.caltrain.c...

GETTING BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CALTRAIN STATION
We'll have a shiny Google bus do a single run (about 7:15pm) to get everyone back to Caltrain in time to catch the 7:49pm Northbound train. The bus will leave from B46, right outside where the meetup is held.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
