Intro to AngularJS Directives

One of the most powerful pieces of AngularJS is the HTML compiler and its extension api called "directives". During this meetup we'll dive into how the compiler works and how to create new directives and using these tame all sorts of DOM manipulation problems.

Agenda:

6:00pm - Door opens, Food, Drinks and Socializing

6:15pm - Quick Intro to AngularJS for Newcomers

6:25pm - More Food, Drinks and Socializing

6:45pm - Intro to AngularJS Directives

7:30pm - Q&A, office hours and socializing

~8:45pm - The end

We are leaving extra time towards the end for any questions or problems specific to your app that you might have. Bring your laptop and code with you. Be ready to explain the problem quickly to get answers from a member of the AngularJS team.

Check out the github repo of my directives presentation: https://github.com/mhevery/demo-directives/commits/master

Look at the individual commits to see the steps I have taken in the presentation.

Misko, is the video public yet? If so, where can we access it? The github repo is an awesome source of knowledge already, but would love to hear the details...

Igor, I will thoroughly enjoy watching the video and reviewing the GitHub. The video will provide context to the git repo samples. Thank you.

There seems to be a lot of interest in broadcasting the meetup. What if we (albeit hackishly) crowdsourced the streaming of the meetup?

Start a private (but On-Air) hangout and invite everyone who's on location. They can connect with their mobile device and stream the video feeds. We can figure out who has the best mic quality and mute everyone else, OR we could find someone with a BT microphone and just ask the presenter to wear it.

If there's time or allowance for it, we (Jobvite) would like to a brief demo of our super secrete/awesome new product being developed in AngularJS tonight if at all possible.

I realize this is going to be a guest speaker and may be better suited to another day though.

Is this broadcast online or will record video?
    Thanks,
