December Meetup - AngularJS Project Structure

Join us for our December AngularJS-SEA Meetup! Michael Calkins of CloudDueling will speak about Project Structure for AngularJS apps. Check out his past Angular tutorials here: https://www.youtube.com/user/michaeljcalkins

As last month, we'll have light food.

If you're interested in giving a lightning talk (less than 5 minutes) or overview of what your team is doing with Angular, email Julie. We're looking for a couple more!

    Part 2
    Jade Template
It has somewhat different syntax from HTML and we struggling to use AngularJS with this. Its example can be seen on the link given above. However, it is the most commonly used template and we are more familiar with this.
    EJS Template
It is similar to HTML in syntax but we found it little difficult as it depended heavily on javascript or maybe we just made one example app with this template. I think if we get grip on it we may be able to use AngularJS with this.

I'd be interested in what you find as I'm still looking for the right way to use the two; what I've done in the past is use Express only as an API and session/authentication purposes, but had a completely separate Angular app that was served statically (and was in control of all of its own routing, as it was a single page app - so I wouldn't use the routing Express offers for the app itself)

may or may not coincide with what one of the core developers, Brian Ford, writes about here: http://briantford.com...

I have a question and would appreciate help from any body on this thread as I am new to Anglar.js and Express.js.

Express JS uses templates for generating HTML and then server sends them to client in response. There may be several other templates from which HTML can be generated. The ones which are most common and we are able to discover are:
    • Jade templates (http://jade-lang.com/)
    • EJS templates (http://embeddedjs.com/)

    AngularJS (http://angularjs.org/) with these templates
All the tutorials on the AngularJS were purely about the use of AngularJS with HTML. This helped us in learning Angular with HTML. To use AngularJS with ExpressJS, we must use it in any of the above templates.

Echoing what Diego asked yesterday, what should those of us on the waitlist do? Wait for email confirmation? Show up with fingers crossed?

I was just confirmed. Woo-hoo!! Not sure if because I spoke up or because it was my turn in the list.

If a space becomes available, Meetup.com will automatically take the first member from the waitlist queue and change their RSVP to "Yes".

  • Julie R.

Hi everyone - we've got room for another lightning talk if anyone is interested - just send me a message! Also, here's the obligatory reminder that space is limited, so if you're signed up and find yourself unable to attend please update your RSVP so that those from the wait list can join us!

How does the wait list work? Does it confirm the first in the wait list as somebody drops off or everyone must try to seize the available chair? ☺

Is there an easy way to build interactive visualization? I think model-driven view may be the right approach. Here is the project I built similar to dc.js but without the complexity. charts bind to models, and they change themselves when the models change. http://yguan.github.io/repos/d3-interactive/
