Alex's talk was good and well delivered. The second talk however was a blatant sales pitch. disappointing... it's an Angular meetup you would expect Angular to be the primary content... not sales pitches? I know it's not easy to find relevant speakers and perhaps my expectations were too high? either way I was not the only one to bail out on the second speaker.

Cool - I wasn't offering it up as defence.. just saying premise was to talk about mydigitalstructure and how it can work with AngularJS. To me the meetup is about going to meet with people and chat about what is happening in the community - and sharing thoughts and ideas. One of the main points of AngularJS is it is a beautiful framework for consuming existing services - allowing you to focus on the user experience. Which is why I go to the meetup to chat about and learn. I need to learn to be less passionate about the service we have created! :-) Looking forward to next meet up.

FYI - this is the link to Richard Kennard's blog and sample code from last night - he spoke at AngularJS earlier this year and has a great tool for wiring up AngularJS apps based on metadata. Very cool.

Firebase seems really interesting, I wasn't so sure what the value add was over mongodb + sockets.io, but it really looks like they've put some serious thought in.
