It was awesome, it was a little over my head but I still ended up learning a ton about how people are currently using Angular and what it is capable of. One thing I would like to see is whoever the speakers are, if they could talk briefly about some learning resources they have used to learn Angular and which resources they prefer over others and that type of thing.

This is an awesome list, thank you!

Wow, that is an awesome list. It's buried in the list too, but I especially recommend egghead.io as a great intro and comprehensive starter tutorial. It's one of the more popular ones out there

Hey guys, for those interested you can poke around in the source code of the libraries I was using in my demonstration today. It's pretty bare on documentation but hopefully enough to give you a general idea of how it works. Here's the link:

Troy, it is for a school project and I need to write a lessons learned paper. I'll put that online and let you know when it's up.

Awesome meetup! Will start playing with Ionic, and I'm following ng-hooks. Great meeting y'all, too! Say, I'm looking for some contracting sidework - anyone know someone looking for devs? http://about.me/lefnire

Thanks to Scott and Chris for the great talks!

If anyone is interested, I made a super simple demo of a way to "extend" a controller like I mentioned during Scott's talk. Here's the single file example from a branch of the project I demoed last month:

    https://github.com/nseegmiller/RoutesAndPromises/blob/ControllerInheritance/client/app/scripts/controllers/dashboard-extended.js

You can see the rest of the demo in there if you poke through the js/html files. It's a bit of a weird edge case, but you can also inject things directly into the base controller to alter its behavior similar to how I'm passing $scope in the "locals" object.

    Official documentation:

    http://docs.angularjs.org/api/ng/service/$controller

    Hope it helps!

Any chance you can move these to Mon (I know, verboten in Utah) or Wed? Or have the meetings remoted? I wfh on T & H in Layton and can't really drive down to Lehi on T or H. (I know, I should move to happy valley....)

    April 2, 2014

    • Matt Z.

I may start alternating the day of the week that the meetup is held. Probably will be either W or H. I have had several other people express that they would like to attend, but T is not a good day for them. I will see about having a live stream.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
