TALKS

"Web Components Change Everything" Presented by Matt Winchester

The Web Components are coming! The Web Components are coming! And that's a great thing! Chrome is about to be the first browser to fully support the Web Component Standard, the others will follow. But what does that mean for all our favorite frameworks and libraries? We will explore 1) what the new standard is and 2) how it might change things.

Audience – Intermediate

About Matt – I currently work for AtTask as a Front End Development Manager. I have been dabbling in Front End Technologies since taking my first development job in 2004 as CS student at BYU. I made the switch to full time Front End work in 2012 and have been loving it ever since. When not hacking with web technologies, I'm probably hanging out with my wife and two daughters. If not that, I'm probably playing some sort of video game.

"Angular 2 & ES6" Presented by Merrick Christensen

The Angular team has been leveraging ES6 to create Angular 2. A framework for the future built today. We will discuss some of the techniques and pitfalls we've learned from using ES6 building Angular 2. We will also give a high level overview on the status of Angular 2 and using ES6 in your own projects.

Audience – Advanced

About Merrick – I like to make things and I feel sad if I'm not learning.

Wow, what crazy timing. The day after I talk about Web Components, it ships to Chrome Stable! Update Chrome and use Web Components native! (Object.observe too)

For those that were planning on the Ionic talk this month, I had to move the meetup back to the 15th and now Tyler is unavailable. He's back on the calendar for next month.

I really like the talks set for this meetup, I've always been curious about the pros/cons of hybrid development systems like PhoneGap.

I'll be out of town when this goes down, but you *know* I'm going to be all over that video once it gets posted.
