This group is for ACTIVE volunteers who wish to help with food transport, animal transport, and adoption events. Membership is open to individuals who are available to assist at least once every 30 days. If you can't assist at least once per month, please don't join and/or leave the group.

Our greatest need is setting up crates at Petco/SW Arlington Saturday mornings (9-10am), transport between the shelters we serve (Keene, Alvardo, Joshua, and Glen Rose) and our adoption events in Fort  Worth and Arlington. We also need transport assistance between shelters, veterinarians, spay/neuter facilities (such as TCAP - Burleson, Hurst, and Fort Worth), and between food donation sites and delivery sites. Inactive group members will be removed after 60 days.

Contact our volunteer coordinator to arrange your volunteer dates and times: LyndaDFW@gmail.com.

About us

The Shelter2Rescue Coalition -- 501(c)3 -- is an organization dedicated to saving dogs on death row in rural Texas shelters. We work with Keene, Alvarado, Joshua, and Glen Rose. Our goal is to turn these high-kill rural shelters into no-kill. We work with a coalition of rescues, veterinarians, transporters, individual contributors, boarding facilities and internet rescuers to save lives by extending the reach of local shelters nationwide. Since July 2007, Shelter2Rescue has saved almost 1,300 dogs by working with local and nationwide verified rescue coalition members. Our goal is to do everything we can to help these rural shelters--who rarely have rescue help-lower their euthanasia rates.
